1949 Indian Super Scout Now Available with Gulf Coast Exotic Auto!
This 1949 Indian Super Scout is a beautifully restored piece of motorcycle history, having undergone a thorough refurbishment in the 1970s. The restoration included a repaint in striking red with gold Indian script accents, along with a rebuild of the 436cc OHV parallel twin engine and four-speed transmission. Additional updates include new rims, spokes, drive chain, tires, control cables, and a wiring harness, ensuring this classic bike is as road-ready as it is visually stunning.
The Super Scout is equipped with an Aerodraulic telescopic front fork and chrome shrouded plunger shocks at the rear, providing a smooth ride. Stopping power comes from the drum brakes, while the 18” wire-spoke wheels are wrapped in Avon Supreme 180 tires, offering a perfect blend of vintage style and modern performance. Comes with a custom Indian garage mat, that will definitely make any shop pop.
Attention to detail is evident throughout, from the chrome dual exhaust system with Burgess-style mufflers to the black leather solo saddle mounted on dual coil springs. The bike also features valanced fenders with chrome tips, a chrome luggage rack, and a bullet-style taillight. The handlebars, finished in chrome, are fitted with cushioned grips and an Indian-branded bar-end mirror, maintaining the bike’s classic aesthetic.
Power is delivered through a wet clutch and a four-speed gearbox, with primary and final drive chains. The rebuilt engine is paired with an Amal carburetor and magneto ignition, while a kick starter and 120-mph Indian-branded speedometer with an inset odometer add to the bike’s vintage appeal.
