1977 Thunderbird runs and drives out good with that big 5.8L V8. We have had the car inspected and serviced by our local mechanic with more info below.
Driving by we found the car in the middle of a field in Hernando County FL that had been sitting for over 10 years. We have brought her back to life and have spent thousands to put this beauty back on the road. We have all the mechanical repairs and bills to go with the car along with a clean title in hand.
Paint and body are good with no dents or scratches; car was repainted many years ago but still shines and is factory White. There is some rust under the half vinyl top I assume that would need to be fixed down the road like many of them had, but the rest of the body and frame are amazingly sold with only surface rust but does have some small rust spots normal for a car this old.
Car is all original and shows off nice, the interior is very clean and all original with normal use per the pictures. We added a dash cover being the dash had some cracks like most of them do, door panels have cracks but shut solid, carpet is faded. These are things for the next owner if he wants the car perfect.
Tires have an older date code but are in good condition, still have nice tread and go down the road nicely. Car stops on a dime and has no issues.
Mechanically: Car runs and drives good, shifts like it should and has cold AC after fixing everything. Carburetor was rebuilt but the car needs to be driven every day being how long it sat. Catalytic converter was removed and was no longer working, no lights on the dash and the radio works.
All headlights and taillights work, front headlight doors open and close as they should. Most all the gauges are working but still waiting to put in a new sending unit to register the gas but does have a new fuel pump.
Trunk is nice and all original that comes with the jack and handle.
Car is a looker but not a frame off restoration, it's an all-original car we saved and makes for a good cruiser and driver that could be displayed at car shows. Does she still need more attention yes! is the car AS-IS yes! but we have done most the work at this point to get her beauty back. Plus, have never claimed to be an expert on these cars, we enjoy finding old cars and saving them and learn something new every day like everyone els.
